BiographyThe Honiss Oyster House was a downtown Hartford landmark; it had been in business for 137 years when it closed in March 1982. Such American legends as Mark Twain and Buffalo Bill Cody dined there. In the 1940s is was owned by Fred H. Atchison; at the time of its closing, the restaurant was owned by Richard Dennison.
