BiographyDorothy Cheney (1880-1971), born in Manchester, was one of the twelve children of Frank Woodbridge Cheney (1832-1909) and Mary Bushnell Cheney (1840-1917). She was the twin sister of Marjory Cheney.
She attended Miss Porter's School and studied art at Harvard Art School. She was a trustee of the Connecticut Junior Republic and the Manchester Visiting Nurses Association.
During World War I she served with the American Red Cross in France.
