Charles Cheney

BiographyCharles Cheney (June 7, 1866 - April 11, 1942) was the eldest son of Frank Woodbridge Cheney (1832-1909) and Mary Bushnell Cheney (1840-1917).
In 1894, Charles married Mary Lydia Brainard (1867-1900) of Hartford, and together they had two children, Marian and Ward (1899-1963). After Mary Brainard's death, Charles married Mary Bell (1882–1953), with whom he had three children: Barbara Cheney Watkins (1904–1985), Maribel Cheney Humpstone (1905–1997), and Sylvia Cheney (1912–1916).
Charles Cheney served as president of Cheney Brothers for many years and chairman of its board of directors before retiring in 1932.
