Sarah Porter

Sarah Porter (1813-1900) was born in Farmington, Connecticut to Noah Porter (1781-1866) and Mehitable “Hetty” Meigs (1786-1874). She had six siblings: Samuel Porter (1810-1901), Noah Porter (1811-1892), Giles Meigs Porter (1815-1901), Rebecca Porter Keep (1818-1893), Elizabeth Green Porter (1822-1908), and Maria Morgan Porter (1824-1913).

She founded Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut in 1843.
