Myron J. Chaffee

Myron J. Chaffee, the son of Peter (1815-1906) and Harriet (1815-1887) Chaffee, was born in Woodstock, Connecticut on June 15, 1842. He enlisted on July 21, 1862, to serve in the Civil War with Company B, 18th Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Infantry. He mustered in on August 18, 1862. He was captured on June 15, 1863, in Winchester, Virginia. He was pardoned on July 2, 1863, and mustered out on June 27, 1865. Myron J. Chaffee died on December 17, 1923, at the age of 81, and is buried in West Cemetery, Manchester, Connecticut.
