BiographyJames "Jim" Wagner (1930 - 6 Oct. 2017) was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. His family moved to Springfield, Massachusetts in 1937. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1952. He served in the Army from 1952-1954, and was also a cartoonist for U.S. Army newspapers. In 1954, he joined the advertising agency of Wilson, Haight & Welch in Hartford, Connecticut as an art director. He worked for the agency for 23 years. Wagner started his own advertising agency in 1978 and worked there until his retirement. He was an accomplished artist having been selected as one of America's 100 outstanding Creative People by Ad Day/USA in 1975.
