Tober Baseball Manufacturing Company
1912 - 1970
In 1938, Meyer rented factory space in the Cheney Brothers' mill in Manchester. The Tober Baseball Manufacturing Company primarily produced baseballs, most of them for the Minor League and Little League, and softballs. In 1955, the company moved to Rockville.
After Meyer's death, his son, Richard, operated the company for at least another five years, before a fire in 1970 caused extensive damage to the plant. At some point in the early 1970s, Meyer's sons moved to Florida and the company went out of business.
