Luke A. Lockwood

American, 1833 - 1905
BiographyLuke A. Lockwood (1 Dec. 1833 - 20 Nov. 1905) was born in Riverside, Conn. He attended Greenwich Academy, then went on to Trinity College in 1851. He graduated as valedictorian in 1855 from Trinity College. He passed the bar in New York in 1856, and practiced law in New York until his death as a senor member of the law firm of Lockwood & Hall. He was involved with the Connecticut Freemasons. In 1873, he created the Masonic Charity Foundation, and it was incorporated in 1889. Lockwood served as the Foundation President until his death.
