Mary Jane Buel

Mary Jane Buel was born on 11 December 1827 in Litchfield, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Dr. Samuel Buel (1782-1874) and Minerva (Wadhams) Buel (1793-1874). She had four siblings: Henry Wadhams Buel (1820-1893), Edward Collins Buel (1824-1852), Maria Louise Buel (1831-1831), and Samuel David Buel (1832-1851).

She married Thomas Kimberly Brace (1825-1870) on 18 January 1853 in Litchfield. They had four children: Mary Buel Brace Collins (1853-1934), Emily M. Brace (1857-1924), Julia Wadhams Brace (1859-1890), and Lucy Mather Brace Allen (1864-1951).

She died on 21 March 1884 in Hartford, Connecticut. She is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
