Besse-Leland Company

The Besse-Leland Company was opened on 22 March 1902 in New Britain, Conn. The first Besse stores began as co-partnerships, and the first store opened on 25 September 1877, in Bridgeport, Conn., under the name of Foster, Besse & Co. Many other stores began to open afterwards. These were clothing stores.
