Dr. Isaac Thompson

Isaac Thompson was born in Stratford, Conn. on August 24, 1775. He was the son of William and Mehitable Ufford Thompson. He moved to New London when he was still young. He was a druggist in New London with no formal training. He most well-known patent medicine was "Dr. Isaac Thompson's Celebrated Eye Water," which is began selling in 1795. The ingredients of the Eye Water included opium, alcohol, and zinc sulphate.
