He was married to Alice Martha Camp in 1865. The couple had 11 children, including several who died in infancy: Edward Bullard (1865-1865), Jessie Augusta Bullard (1966-1945), Dudley Brewster Bullard (1869-1941), Julia M. Bullard (1871-1872), Edward Payson Bullard, Jr. (1872-1953), Katie Bullard (1873-1874), Ralph D. Bullard (1875-1875), Stanley Hale Bullard (1877-1931), Harold Camp Bullard (1879-1949), Joseph William Camp Bullard (1882-1956), and Alice Margery Bullard (1885-?).

In the 1920s, the Bullard family purchased 50 acres on County Road, Norwich Hill, Huntington, Massachusetts, using the old home on the property as a summer retreat. Edward Bullard's daughter Jessie and her husband, Harry Clark, built a modern farm house and barn on the property in the late 1930s, while continuing to use the original house in the summer.
