BiographyJohn Richards Lambert was born in Sharon, Connecticut, in 1858. He was the son of George Benjamin Lambert and Harriet Clark. He graduated from St. Stephen's College in 1881, and from the Berkeley Divinity School in 1884. He was ordained as an Episcopal priest by Bishop Niles in 1885. Reverend Lambert was assigned as Assistant Rector to St. James Church, Glastonbury, Connecticut, in 1885, and then as Rector, Christ Church, Red Hook, New York, from 1886 until his death. He married Helen Welles Kellogg on 7 May 1885. They had twins: a son, John Richards Lambert (1895-1979), who married Martha Ruhamah Tryon (1892-1979); and a daughter, Helen Kellogg Lambert. Reverend Lambert died in Red Hook, New York, between 1897 and 1900. He is buried in the Amenia Union Cemetary in Sharon, Connecticut.
