BiographyGurdon Saltonstall was born 27 March 1666 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He graduated Harvard in 1684 and was ordained minister in New London in 1691. He become governor of Connecticut in 1708-1724. He was instrumental for introducing printing into Connecticut.
He was married three times; first to Jerusha Richards, second to Elizabeth Roswell, and third to Mary (Lawrence) Clarke. He was the father of 10 children. He died in New London, Connecticut on 20 September 1724.
