BiographyWilliam W. Reed and Bissell B. Barber were Hartford booksellers and publishers. They first formed their partnership in 1837. According to the Hartford Daily Courant, the firm dissolved October 12, 1839, but Reed & Barber subsequently appear as the publishers of maps of the United States in the 1840s and 1850s.
