BiographyCharles S. Middlebrook was born in Connecticut about 1822. He is listed as a "daguerrean artist" living in Bridgeport, Connecticut in the 1850 Federal Census. The J. Paul Getty Museum lists C. S. Middlebrook as a daguerreotypist active in Bridgeport from 1845 to 1854. He does not appear in Connecticut Photographers. Middlebrook also worked as a daguerreotyptist in Virginia.
