Vistus Balch

Vistus Balch was born on 18 February 1799 in Williamstown, Massachusetts. In 1822, he was working as an engraver in Albany, New York. By 1826, he was in New York City, where he was a partner in a number of engraving firms, including Balch, Stiles & Co. (1828-1830). He died at Johnstown, New York on 25 October 1884.
