BiographyFollowing service in the Civil War, George F. Cram (1842-1928) joined his uncle's map company in Chicago, Illinois. Two years later, he founded George F. Cram & Co. which would continue in business until about 2012. The company was one of the most prolific publishers of maps and atlases during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They also produced globes.
