BiographyJohannes Covens and Cornelis Mortier were map printers and publishers active in Amsterdam, Holland, beginning in 1721. They produced wall maps of many countries and continents, town plans, atlases, and pocket atlases. Covens's son became a partner in 1774 and the firm was known as Covens and Mortier and Covens, Junior through 1783.
