Sidney E. MorseAmerican, 1794 - 1871
Sidney E. Morse was the son of Jedidiah Morse. He was born in Charlesstown, Massachusetts in 1794 and worked with his father on geographical publications, including A New System of Modern Geography, A New Universal Atlas of the World, and an Atlas of the United States. Many of these works were published in New Haven. He developed the technique of wax engraving called cerography and used it for his later work.
