Horace Wells1815 - 1848
Horace Wells was born on 21 January 1815 in Hartford, Vermont. He was educated at New England Academies and began his study of dentistry in Boston in 1834. In 1836 he opened a practice in Hartford, Connecticut. Wells was an early proponent of use of anesthesia in dental procedures. He died in New York City on 24 January 1848.
