DescriptionSquare, plain-woven ash and oak basket with a round rim. The rim is single wrapped and double reinforced, with half-round interior and exterior reinforcement. The basket has a carved bail handle, notched on the inside. The warp and weft splints are medium width; there are three narrow-fitting splints at the base. Unit and tight geometric designs are painted in laundry bluing and Mohegan pink. Stamping is part of the medallions, using bluing. Each medallion is placed off center on the sides. The design includes chains at the top and bottom of the basket.
