DescriptionPlain-woven covered storage basket, possibly made of white ash. The basket is rectangular, with a flat, rectangular rim. The rim is single wrapped and double reinforced, with flat interior and exterior reinforcement. The warp splints are medium width and the weft splints are medium to wide. Swabbing on odd wefts is colored with walnut stain. The base of the basket is lined with an 1817 newspaper, and the sides and cover are lined with an 1821 Connecticut Courant.
