DescriptionSeamed and cast silver teapot with a rounded rectangular body; the teapot bows down in the center along the long side. The teapot has a rectangular lid with a globular finial; the lid attaches to the rim with a hinge at one side. The teapot has a rounded, projecting neck, a narrow shoulder, a rounded rectangular body, and four hollow ball-shaped feet on the underside. At one short side of the teapot is an angular, ear-shaped handle. Each end of the handle is joined with small nails to an ivory disc, then to a cast rectangular support that is soldered at an angle to the body of the teapot. Opposite the handle is an S-shaped spout soldered over multiple holes punched in the side of the teapot. The edge of the lid and the rim, the neck, and the shoulder have finely engraved dotted, scalloped, and undulating lines. The neck has slanted panels of leaves on a vine. Each long side of the teapot has a circular wreath of leaves on a vine.

The body is constructed of seamed silver; the bottom of the teapot is soldered to the sides. The handle, spout, and hollow feet are cast and soldered to the body. The finial is cast and soldered to the lid.
