DescriptionSpun pewter footed bowl with a flared lip, tapered sides, a curved bottom, and a stepped, circular foot. At one side of the bowl is the engraved inscription, "MOSES FOX CLUB/ 1969". The bowl is machine polished. It is lightly scratched, and the foot has a dent at one side.

NotesHistorical Note: Moses Fox (1850-1938) was the President of G. Fox and Co. of Hartford, Connecticut. His father, Gerson Fox (1811-1880), founded the company after moving to Hartford in the 1840s. The Moses Fox Club was for employees of the Hartford department store G. Fox & Company that had been employeed by the company for 25 years. Each year a dinner was held and members would receive a gift. (Lee 5/29/2007)
