DescriptionRound, white, vitrified china soap dish with plain rim, tapered sides, and a flat bottom. The dish has a brown, underglaze, printed decoration. In the center is the figure of a sphinx, or a lion's body with a woman's torso and wings. The sphinx's right paw rests on a shield containing the intertwined letters "T" and "H" below a crown. Above this is the word "The" and below is "Heublein". The interior sides of the dish have a design of branches with thorns, leaves and berries. The interior bottom of the dish has some light yellow and brown stains. There is one chip on the edge of the rim, and two large chips on the underside of the rim.
