His right hand is on her waist and her right hand is on his hair. They are kissing. She wears a dress trimmed with ribbons and lace and wears jewelry, consisting of two bracelets, a necklace with a heart-shaped locket, and a ring. She wears a rose on the bodice of her dress and another in her hair. He wears a coat, trousers, and a plaid vest. He has a slight beard. Patterned wallpaper, patterned drapery, and wainscoting are in the background.
