DescriptionA young man kisses a young woman while she presses straw hats down over the faces of two young children in her charge. The man wears a coat and straw hat. He has sideburns. The woman wears a dress, a shawl, a necklace with a cross, and a bonnet trimmed with flowers and ribbons. The children, who are either two girls or a little girl and a little boy, both wear short skirts and have bags attached at their waists. One child appears to wear a chemise or slip with eyelet trim. The other wears pantaloons with eyelet trim. The couple stand in a grassy field or lane with a rail fence and bushes behind them. The steeple of a church is in the left background.
