DescriptionA young child, probably a girl, is seated in an ornate chair or throne. She wears a dress with a wide neckline and puff sleeves trimmed with lace. She holds a puppy in her lap. A second girl leans across the right arm of the chair. She wears a dress with a square neckline and a bodice laced up the back. A boy stands at the left, leaning his left arm on the arm of the chair and resting his cheek on his left hand. He wears a doublet, breeches, hose, and garters. Another small child is seated on the floor looking at a picture book. A second puppy has its paws on the book. A third puppy is nursing from a large dog seated at the right. A doll, a ball, and a sheet of paper are on the floor nearby. A large bouquet of flowers is in the left background. Drapery is at the left and right. Decorative tracery is in spandrels at the upper left and upper right.
