DescriptionExterior views of mills, primarily textile mills, many of them in ruinous condition, including details of stonework, brickwork, decorative woodwork, and various architectural elements such as doors, windows, towers, and gates. Some views show mill workers' housing, including "Swede Village" in North Grosvenordale. Other mills include Richards Mill in Uncasville, the ruins of Pequot Mills on the Oxoboxo River, the Collins Axe Company in Collinsville, a burned mill in Occum, a mill on the French River in Thompson, Florence Mill and Saxony Mill in Rockville, the Peep Toad Mill in East Killingly, the Gilbert Clock Factory in Winsted, the Home Woolen Mills in Beacon Falls, a factory gate in Jewett City, the American Suspender Mill in Waterbury, a Warehouse in Montville, workers' housing in Thomaston, the Old Stone Mill in Phoenixville, Ponemah Mills in Taftville, Danielson Mill in Danielson, the Yantic Woolen Mill in Norwich, and the American Thread Co. in Willimantic. Baltic Mill in Baltic is shown undergoing demolition.
