DescriptionCast pewter sundial consisting of a round disc with raised Roman numerals on the face, in a circle around the edge. The numerals run clockwise from five to twelve on one side, and from one to seven on the other. Between the numerals "VII" and "V" is the name "IOSIAH MILLER". Immediately below the name are the raised letters and numbers "L4 2D". The center of the sundial has multiple raised concentric rings. The sundial has a solid pewter triangular gnomon, a piece joined perpendicularly to the top of the sundial that casts a shadow to indicate the position of the sun. The initials "I" and "M" are located in the center of the sundial, on opposite sides of the gnomon. The face of the sundial has raised lines that connect the tip of the gnomon with each Roman numeral. Two holes are pierced through opposite sides of the edge of the sundial. The top of the gnomon is bent to one side.
