DescriptionCast pewter whale oil lamp with a domed font, or reservoir, over a tall shaft and a domed base. A disc is soldered to the round opening at the top of the font. The disc is pierced with two holes; one hole contains a narrow, tapered wick tube that extends down into the font. The center of the shaft has a cylinder with a raised ring around the center. At one side, an ear-shaped handle is soldered to the lamp. The lamp is lightly tarnished.
