DescriptionPressed colorless glass paperweight with black and white transfer decoration. The paperweight consists of a rectangular glass block with curved edges and corners. The bottom surface of the paperweight is recessed. A design, applied using a black and white transfer printing process, is applied into this recessed area and is visible through the top of the paperweight. The design shows a bust of a man with short hair and a beard, wearing a tie and suit jacket. Below him are the words, "COL. ALBERT A POPE/ FOUNDER OF THE MANUFACTURE OF BICYCLES/ IN THE UNITED STATES/ AND THE/PIONEER OF THE GREAT MOVEMENT/ FOR BETTER AMERICAN ROADS/ ABRAMS PAPER WEIGHT CO. PITTSBURGH, PA/ PAT. NOV. 23 82."
