DescriptionPressed colorless glass paperweight with black and white transfer decoration. The paperweight consists of a rectangular glass block with curved edges and corners. The bottom surface of the paperweight is recessed. A design, applied using a black and white transfer printing process, is applied into this recessed area and is visible through the top of the paperweight. The design shows a three-story building with a steep roof, elaborate porch, corner entrance, and tower. Above the building are the words, "CONNECTICUT FIRE". Below the building are the words, "INSURANCE CO. HARTFORD/ "PAT. SEP. 5 '82, BARNES & ABRAMS CO., SYRACUSE, N.Y." A spot of blue ink is adhered to the surface of the glass, above the word, "CONNECTICUT".
