DescriptionGrey salt-glazed stoneware jug with a rolled rim, rounded shoulder, cylindrical body, and flat bottom. The jug has a pulled strap handle that connects the rim and shoulder. The exterior of the jug is coated with a salt glaze, while the interior is coated with a brown slip glaze, or Albany-type glaze. An impressed mark is located opposite the handle, "C OSGOOD & Co/ DRUGGIST/ NORWICH". A small amount of cobalt blue has been applied over the mark. Below the mark is the jug's primary decoration, consisting of a wide floral arrangement over an abstract "S" curve, possibly intending to represent leaves. Below this is the number "2", also applied in cobalt blue. There are minor imperfections in the surface of the jug, probably the result of the firing process. There is crazing over all the exterior glazed surfaces of the jug.
