DescriptionBlown colorless non-lead glass tumbler with a plain rim, tapered sides, and a ground pontil mark on the bottom. The tumbler is decorated with a wheel-engraved design on one side, consisting of a basket containing a flower and sprays of leaves. Squiggled lines flank the basket, and there is one small spray of leaves on the side of the tumbler opposite the basket.
There is a significant circular crack in the glass to the left of the engraved basket. Longer cracks extend down and to the right of the circular one. A ring of light scratches and wear, as well as the remnants of a white paper label, are located on the bottom of the tumbler.
Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
