DescriptionBlown colorless lead glass tumbler with a plain rim, tapered sides, and a polished pontil mark on the bottom. A pattern cut into the sides of the tumbler alternates between a rondelle, or a circle with a tapered pattern of vertical lines above, and what is known as a strawberry-diamond motif. A strawberry-diamond consists of an oval with a diamond in the center decorated with cross hatching. A spray of straight lines in the shape of a fan is located above each strawberry-diamond. There are two rings of scratches and wear on the bottom of the tumbler. A rectangular red and white paper label is adhered to the bottom. The number "435" is hand-written in black ink on the label.

Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
