DescriptionVery large, blown olive green glass demijohn with a plain rim, an applied ring below the rim, a gradually widening neck, sloping shoulders, a spherical body, and a medium kick on the bottom. There are many bubbles and seeds, or areas of unvitrified matter, in the glass.
There is a chip in the rim and several large and small scratches on the exterior surface of the glass. Dirt, an unknown white substance, and an unknown brown substance are adhered to small portions of the interior of the demijohn. A used piece of gum is adhered to the interior bottom of the demijohn as well.
Kick: An indentation in the bottom of a drinking glass, bottle, or other glass object.
NotesSubject Note: A demijohn is a large spherical bottle with a short neck used for shipping liquor. It may have originally had a woven wicker case that conformed to the shape of the demijohn.
