DescriptionShort, wide, cylindrical, free-blown medium olive green glass jar. The jar has a plain rim, vertical over diagonal ribbed sides formed in a 36-rib mold, and a shallow kick and shallow pontil mark on the bottom. One small spot of an unknown reddish-brown substance has adhered to the jar just under the rim. There are light scratches around the neck of the jar and on the bottom surface.
Kick: An indentation in the bottom of a drinking glass, bottle, or other glass object.
Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
