DescriptionMold-blown dark olive-green glass case bottle with an applied ring at the rim, a short cylindrical neck, horizontal rounded shoulders, tapered squared sides, and a medium kick and a pontil mark on the bottom. An old, white, rectangular laid paper label is adhered to the side of the bottle about three inches below the shoulder. The name "Russell Rhuban" is hand-written in black ink on the label. The interior and exterior of the case bottle are dirty. There are light scratches and wear on the bottom of the case bottle, especially at the corners. There is significant foxing, dirt, and wear on the paper label.
Kick: An indentation in the bottom of a drinking glass, bottle, or other glass object.
Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
