DescriptionTrivet consisting of a white earthenware tile with a thin, square sheet of cork adhered to the back. The trivet is decorated with a printed blue enamel scene showing a three-story brick and stone building with a projecting, pedimented portico, with a balustrade and cupola on the roof. The building is flanked by trees and has a grassy lawn in the front. The title below the scene reads, "Hartford's Old State House/ First Home of Society for Savings, 1819". A small metal loop on a textile and paper backing is inserted into a "U" shaped opening in the cork backing.
