Some of the glaze has dripped down the sides, although the ceramic is exposed on the lower sides and back of the tile. The back of the tile has an impressed rectangular area with the impressed word "HARTFORD" above a diamond and the word "FAIENCE" inside the diamond. There is some crazing on the glazed surface of the tile and seven chips along the glazed top edge.
