DescriptionView, from an elevated vantage point, of a small industrial town. Factory buildings with cupolas are at the far right, left, and in the left foreground. Additional buildings include three churches, two with square towers and one with a tall steeple, and numerous houses with outbuildings. Smoke issues from some chimneys. A stable or horse shed is to the right of the central road. Two circular or oval grass plots or gardens are in the central square or green. Rail fences divide fields in the foreground. A few small figures are on the main road. Hills with houses on them are in the background.
