DescriptionDrawings include plans for basement, ground, second, plot, alternate basement, roof, and elevations for south, John Street, east, north sides. Also sections of transverse, part longitudinal, water tank, and notes on preliminary information. Also detail on lintel of exterior doors to elevation, and stairway. Plans include water storage tank, elevator, coal bunker, storage space, ash lift, hook & ladder truck area, hose testing bench, hose auto, boilers, machine show, dormitory, assembly room, engine house, and barn. Elevations show two story, four bay building with multipaned steel sash windows that horizontally pivot. There are brownstone sills, brackets and a foundation and cornice. The entrance is a wood door with a glazed transom window under galvanized iron on wood frame. The facade features sunken panels above the cornice, tin covered doors, chimney, and decorated diamond pattern panels. Notes on March 3, 1920 feature Chief Moran's questions on preliminary costs, information on description of potential building including measurements, details of rooms for possibly 12 men. Scale for drawings is 1/4" = 1' 0".
NotesHistorical Note: As of October 2004, the building is still standing on 32 and 36 John Street in Hartford, Connecticut. In 2004, building has been renovated as studio for use by 'I-Spy' children's book author Walter Wick. 36 drawings and notes, altogether.
