DescriptionGrey stoneware ink bottle with a cone collar rim, sloping neck and shoulder, cylindrical body, and curved bottom. The ink bottle is glazed on the interior and exterior with a light brown salt glaze. To one side, near the bottom of the ink bottle, is an impressed mark, "VITREOUS STONE BOTTLES, CO./ WARRANTED NOT TO ABSORB,/ J. BOURNE & SON,/ PATENTEES./ DENBY & CODNOR PARK POTTERIES/ NEAR DERBY". There is one chip in the bottom edge of the ink bottle, revealing the stoneware below.
