DescriptionOvoid, grey stoneware jug with a light brown salt glaze on the exterior. The jug has a plain rim, a reeded neck, ovoid shoulders and body, and a flat bottom. A narrow pulled handle connects the neck with the shoulder of the jug. Hand-painted cobalt blue decoration has been applied on the shoulder of the jug opposite the handle. The decoration consists of two abstract double flowers with a leaf between. There are several irregularities on the surface of the jug caused by the firing process and the uneven surface of the stoneware. There is crazing over all the exterior glazed surfaces of the jug and a gouge in the stoneware at the base of the floral design.
