DescriptionTall, slender, buff-colored stoneware tankard with an exterior brown slip glaze; the interior is not glazed. The tankard, which tapers from bottom to top, is decorated at the bottom with two raised bands and a third beaded border that circle the tankard. Above this, in the middle of the tankard, is sprigg-molded applied decoration in the shape of an oval wreath. Inside the wreath is a castle with the letter "A" on the left and "H" on the right. Above this are three bands of rope-like decoration circling the tankard, and then a plain rim. Opposite the applied decoration, a mold-formed handle is applied, connecting the rim and middle of the tankard. There are two chips on the exterior of the tankard: one above the applied decoration and one at the foot.
