DescriptionRelatively deep redware bowl with a clear lead glaze and patches of manganese black decoration. The bowl has a flat, round foot and sides that swell out and up to a thin, tapered, rolled rim. The bowl is glazed on the interior and exterior, with the exception of the bottom and lower two inches of the exterior of the bowl, which are not glazed. Patches of manganese black have been applied around the rim and around the interior of the bowl near the rim. There is extensive crazing to the glaze on the bowl, many chips and scratches, and many spots where dirt has adhered to the glaze or chips. There are two older, irregular hairline cracks in the rim.
