DescriptionSmall, small-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, narrower neck, and a rim that supports a fitted lid (now missing). The interior of the jar is coated with a lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar, which is unglazed. Several irregular smudged patches of manganese black have been applied to the exterior of the jar and part of the interior as well.

There is crazing over all the glazed surfaces of the jar, and several small chips in the glaze on the rim and sides. A few light scratches are visible on the body of the jar. Two large and several smaller spots of black paint are adhered to the bottom of the jar.
