DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and a flared rim that supports a fitted lid. The interior of the jar (.a) is coated with a clear lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar, which is unglazed. Several irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the outside of the jar and the lid (.b). The disc-shaped lid has a circular finial in the center.

There is a large crack in the jar, running from the rim halfway down the side. There is also a chip in the rim where the crack begins. The exterior glazed surface of the jar is lightly scratched, and there is a small chip missing from the tip of the finial on the lid.
